Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup

In San Francisco on April 16, 2015, the Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup group has a speaker who is very experienced with government web accessibility. Check out more information and registration (required).

Description of Event:
We’ve all seen it: a project team brought to a complete stop while everyone sorts out yet another item on the accessibility checklist. Drawing on his background in making environmental rules clear to people who need to follow and enforce them, Cliff Tyllick has an idea for how we can remove these barriers to implementing online accessibility.

In addition to hearing Cliff’s idea, you will learn: how you can help build a tool that will make the stalled project a much less frequent event; and where you can find the best teaching tools today.

Cliff Tyllick joins us from Austin, Texas, where he has long worked in making the websites of governmental agencies accessible. In his own time, Cliff serves as an organizer of the Drupal Accessibility working group and participated in 2011 as an invited expert with the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Education and Outreach Working Group.
In his day job, Cliff was the first Web Accessibility expert in AT&T’s Corporate Accessibility Technology Office, but recently returned to government service.
